Are you Resolution Ready? What to Do as a New Member at Healthtrax

Fitness New Year’s resolutions can help you get a fresh start. If you’ve been interested in starting a new workout plan or schedule, we’ve got a program built to help you reach your goals. Here at Healthtrax our staff will help you stay committed to your fitness plan.

Getting ready for your resolution? Have you committed to exercise more and eat better?

End of year resolutions are traditionally the catalyst where most people sign up for a gym membership. But here at Healthtrax, we want you to do more than just join, we want you to succeed! Fortunately, you don’t have to do it alone. New members are entitled to a Healthy Start program included in the membership fee.

What is Healthy Start?

The Healthy Start program is a personalized way to get you started on the right path to meeting your fitness goals and needs. Beyond that, it’s a way to establish a baseline that you can compare your progress with later in the year. Healthtrax is a family-friendly, safe gym environment, so you should feel comfortable using the equipment unassisted on your first day, but the key is that you can get assistance for free. The program consists of a series of appointments with a certified personal trainer who will guide you to the appropriate activities that match your interests, goals, and abilities.

What to expect in the first Healthy Start Session?

The session will last between 45-60 minutes, and will involve some moving around, so we recommend dressing in sneakers and comfortable exercise clothing such as t-shirt, shorts, or sweatpants. Make sure to fuel up, eating foods that will prepare your body for exercise. We recommend a small carb/protein pairing along with lots of water.

When you arrive, the assigned Trax Trainer will review your health status profile and discuss any pertinent medical conditions that will need to be considered when designing your personalized fitness program. It’s a mini health assessment provided by certified fitness professionals to help you get going in the right direction.

Establishing a Baseline with the InBody570

The InBody570 is a body composition analyzer that helps provide you with vital statistics on health and well-being. The process is simple – you stand on a scale and grab the handles. The InBody570 takes 45 (painless!) seconds to calculate your weight, muscle mass, water content and other key points of health. These data points, including calculating the body mass index (BMI), help the trainers to design a fitness program that will help you see results better because it’s based on you.

Working with a Trax Trainer

The final part of your initial meeting will include some personal training, showing you parts of the recommended workout plan. The follow up session will go into more depth, showcasing equipment you may not have had time to try in the first session. Your trainer is also available to answer any questions you may have since the last time you met. At that time, you will be able to sign up for future Trax Training, including one-on-one and small group sessions, and any other specialty training such as corrective exercise, aquatic 1-on-1 training, active isolated stretching & more.

A gym membership should be more than just the solution to your yearly resolution. We at Healthtrax strive to be your partner in a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are a new or existing member, come in to learn about the ways we can help you achieve your goals. On the fence? Use our free day pass to experience any of our locations for yourself.
