Trax Transformations
I joined Healthtrax in 2016, after I retired. I had more free time and wanted to do something positive for myself.
I started with a personal trainer who helped me learn correct techniques and establish what my strengths and weaknesses were. I was surprised at what I could and could not do. For instance, I couldn’t stand on one foot for any length of time.
I then transitioned to Group Fitness Classes, where I felt more comfortable “blending in” with members of various fitness levels and abilities. I started taking classes regularly including Group Active, Group Centergy, Yoga, Barre, Group Groove, Group Core and Group Power. I have met some of the nicest people in every class, and even developed friendships outside of the gym!
Most classes have a balance activity, and I knew I needed that.
One day, I was out walking, and a dog on a leash suddenly lunged at me, pulling his owner down to the ground and breaking free. The dog ran to me aggressively and I don’t know how I didn’t fall down into the street trying to get away from him. But, I stayed upright! I am 100% sure all those balance classes were the reason! I was shaking, but still on my feet.
My Healthtrax membership has been one of the very best things I have done for myself.
The Healthtrax Mobile App has helped me maintain my activity level (and control stress) during the pandemic. When I am away from home, or when I have a schedule conflict, I can still participate in all my favorite classes On Demand from home.
I am so very glad I took that first step to join. I never thought I would be one of those people who hates to miss a workout, but I am!
